Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I'm TONY! Well, I used to have a different name, but I'm a changed man and my foster mom thinks Tony is a much handsome name for a pup like me. When she gets mad at me, I'm Anthony Eugene, but I just give her a look with my big brown puppy-dog eyes and all is forgiven. I am a mixed breed male and we think I have Beagle and Basset Hound in me. I have a long body like a Basset Hound with Beagle legs. I have short ears like a Beagle though. I am an extremely happy boy about 1-2 years old. My story is that I came into rescue as my owners no longer wanted me, so they left me behind when they moved. Image that? I was so scared all alone, but I had some wonderful people looking out for me and gave me fresh water and food until I got into this nice rescue group. I have always lived outside in a fenced in yard and didn't know the feel of carpet or what a luxury dog bed was or even your couch. I am in a foster home now and living with several smaller breed dogs and cats. The introductions have been great so another playmate in my new home would be fine. I am so used to being alone that either way would be fine. I love to play ball and chase but I LOOOOOOVE squeeky toys! I like stuffed toys too, especially unstuffing them. They go to the stuffy hospital and get all better and then I get them back to play with! So far I've learned to take me toys out of the toy basket, but we're working on getting me to put them back! I've also learned to use a doggy door to go in and out. I love to run in my big back yard and play very nicely with my little foster brothers and sisters. I like it when they chase me! I would just love another dog to play with if I could. Please, pretty please? I haven't been taken much of anywhere in my previous life and my new foster mom has gotten me used to riding in the car. We've gone through many drive-throu's to get me used to them! I've been to the vet, which was really scarry. I just wanted to stay in my cage and let everyone leave me alone, I was sooo scared. I've gotten better at the trips to the vet and getting used to going so it's no longer scary. I love going for walks and I've been learning to walk on a gentle leader. At home I'll sit by your side when not playing and want you to pet me or play with me. When my foster mom is studying or working, I just lay at her feet. I just want to have a new guardian that will love me, take me for walks, take me for car rides, take me for vet care, etc. I came to rescue without ever being at a vet. I've been neutered, and I had a cherry eye fixed. Since being neutered I haven't had any accidents in the house and my foster mom says "boy can he hold it!" I have all my vaccines including rabies, distemper/parvo, lepto, and bordetella. I'm microchiped, heartworm tested negative (should retest in 6 months), current on heartworm and flea prevention, and negative for intestinal parasites. My adoption donation is $200.00 and what a great companion I will make for you. If your looking to get off the couch and have some fun, then you should meet me!!! If your interested in adopting Tony, please fill out an adoption application on our website under adoptions and we do also require home visits with all adoptable pets.
