Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Well Hezzo there! My name is Otis and I am the newest NBSAR doggie. I am approximately 4 years old and a male Pug. I know that I look like I am worried, but quite frankly, I am not. I have a constantly pensive look on my face, even when I am bouncing around being silly. Foster Moms
Unfortunately my previous owner did not properly vet me for the first 3-4 years of my life, I now am dealing with being Heartworm Positive. The very nice people at NBSAR said that they are going to make sure I get all better. I am currently on Doxycycline and can go through my first (and hopefully only) treatment the week of December 3rd. I am thankful that the Allegan Shelter is run by some really wonderful people who contacted NBSAR to help me. Those Allegan people sure do know who just to call to make us sick pups feel better! In some shelters, Heartworm Positive dogs don't make it out I heard. Boy did I get lucky.
I am sweet and cuddly. I follow my person around like nobody's business. I like other doggies and kitties but I would perfectly happy being the only pup as well. I am a very chill and laid back guy who just wants a family of my own to love and care for me.
I CAN be adopted through NBSAR's program called "Foster-to-Adopt" where NBSAR pays for and takes care of my Heartworm treatment. And the adoption is not finalized until I am Heartworm free! The Heartworm treatment just requires that 30 days after it, I am kept very calm and quiet and only leash walked to go potty. I am a calm guy to begin with, so this won't be too hard! During a "Foster-to-Adopt", NBSAR provides you a crate, bowls, food, leash, collar, toys...whatever supplies you need!
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, De-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you think that I might be the perfect addition to your family, please contact the awesome volunteers at N.B.S. Animal Rescue at nbsanimalrescue@gmail.com for any additional information or answers to any questions you might have. You can fill out a simple online adoption application at www.nbsar.org and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on DHLPP, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative, cats must be current on Distemper, Rabies, and Heartworm Preventative at the time of application. While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and will fill out an adoption application right away, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family. Would you please help me by sharing my picture and information on your Facebook page, or e-mail to your friends and family members? I'm a great pup and I really deserve a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
