My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This 1 yr old Male Beagle Mix was found wandering down the road by our Veterinarian while she was out on a farm call. He is friendly & sweet. He was flea bitten, underweight, & had no collar or microchip. He is neutered, & up to date on all his shots. He is house trained & seems to be good about being crated as well. Roadie has been great with kids & other dogs of all sizes. He knows basic commands & is quick to respond when corrected. He had some minor hair loss, most likely due to the fleas. He has been bathed & put on preventative & his fur filled in quickly. On arrival he weighed about 22lbs. He now weighs 28.8! Such a cutie & such a good boy, he is ready for a forever home! Update: 1/2/13 we found out Roadie is a light positive for heartworms. The Vet had done a slide smear when he was found & there were no microfilaria. We did a snap test today just to be sure and he showed what is considered "exposure" level positive. He has been on heartworm preventative & the treatment recommended is to continue the monthly meds & he will eventually show negative and all clear. He is in excellent health and there are no issues expected. SSAR will provide 6 months of medication to his adopter.
