Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Oscar was rescued from a rural shelter where he was brought in as a stray. He is a 1 year old male, black lab mix and is a medium-large dog weighing about 57 pounds. Don’t be fooled by Oscar’s name, he is definitely not a grumpy dog! He is a typical young, bouncy lab and loves to say hello to everyone he meets. He has an easy-going personality and is great with other dogs and he absolutely LOVES people – especially anyone who is willing to give him a good scratch. Oscar is housetrained and is not destructive in the house; however, he does like to be kept busy with his toys, bones, or stuffed kong. Oscar is an easy-to-train dog as he is extremely food motivated and wants nothing more than to please his people. He already knows “sit” and “shake-a-paw” and is learning quickly about other house-hold rules such as no-jumping and staying off the kitchen counters. He sleeps well in his crate at night and also when his foster mom is out. Oscar walks beautifully on leash with just a flat collar and barely pulls at all. He also loves car rides, but needs to be restrained as he has a tendency to move around a lot as he loves to look out all the windows. He is still a bit jumpy and very excitable when he first meets someone new, but he does calm down quickly when reminded of proper greeting behaviour. Oscar is an active, energetic dog, but he has no problem settling down after a walk or a game of fetch in the back-yard. He is a big snuggler and likes to sleep at the feet of his people. He would likely do fine in a house with confident, dog-savvy cats.
