Nico is a 7 months old (4/2/12) AKC registered Chocolate Toy Poodle. He is 8.8lbs and will probably level out just under 10lbs.
Nico's story is one we here often in rescue. Nico's Mom had another Chocolate male Poodle prior that passed away prematurely at 7 years old, and in her grief she went out and purchased Nico from a reputable breeder. Not thinking about Nico being a puppy he had to be kept in a crate while she worked and only came out when the dog walker came and Nico literally was going crazy and puppy biting when he did get out.
So Nico was surrendered to Toy Poodle Rescue, so he never had to spend his days crated anymore and here he has been a perfect gentleman with freedom and interactive play and other pack Poodles to guide him. We have not had one issue and we truly believe it was due to the constant confinement. For a puppy Nico is very mellow and a kind soul, he is extremely smart and listens well.
He would benefit from obedience classes so he has a sense of self worth and esteem and verbal commands onboard. He is sitting on command and continues to learn while here. He is a very gentle boy who loves to snuggle after taking every toy out of the toy box and playing with all of them. He loves to go for walks and run around in a fenced in yard with the other Poodles.
Nico grooms like a dream, totally stood still while he was groomed which for a puppy is difficult and shows his ability to follow direction and be calm when needed, which transfers to a great ability for obedience training. Nico is totally potty trained and is a very good boy, who would love to find a home where someone is home during the day with possibly another dog for playing with the same energy level.
