Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pebbles is the first dog we've taken in from the house raided by the local SPCA near Celina, Ohio, with 150-200 dogs on the property. We were down in mid-October to assist with the remaining dogs - about half had been removed at that point. We catalogued and photographed about 40 dogs.
Pebbles is about 6 years old and looks like a Retriever cross. Pebbles spent her entire life in a cage in a barn up until October 18. She had only minimal socialization with people, mainly the two property owners. Yet her innate personality jumped out at us among many beautiful but unsocialized dogs. Pebbles was very nervous of us, but continually fought her fear to approach. She nervously took pets and rolled over on her back. There is not one aggressive bone in her body, even when very scared - she just hits the floor and prays she won't get hurt too bad.
Pebbles arrived in Canada on Oct 19 and has yet to be spayed, but she is doing well with all the huge new changes in her life. She remains very people-loving but nervous, and will never be like a dog that was raised in a different environment. She has a huge spirit and heart and is ready to bond. She's very socialized with other dogs and would probably do all right with cats, and while she would probably do well with children also, we are looking for a home that's not extremely busy and loud, for her comfort. Amazingly, she is great in a crate and in the car, and is learning leashes and outdoor potty quickly. She is a very special little lady with many cute mannerisms that will make someone an amazing companion.
