My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jasmine’s story is one of true survival and is a great example of just how primitive, resilient and independent a Jindo can be. Her story is lengthily with many twists and turns. The short version is Jasmine has lived on her own for nearly the entire 4 years of her life. She was at large for 8 months when she was just a puppy. She was caught and taken to the shelter. We pulled her but she wanted no part of being rescued. Jasmine refused to get into the car, slipped her lead in the parking lot and ran off. Jasmine eventually returned to the neighborhood she was originally lost from, looking for her owners. Sadly, her owners moved away. Jasmine became the neighborhood dog. For over 3 years, Animal Control tried to catch her to no avail. Jasmine eventually surrendered herself by walking into the home of her “boyfriend” Hiro the Husky in May of 2012. To our surprise, we received a call from the shelter telling us Jasmine was finally caught. We’ve had her in foster care since and she is an amazing dog. A sweet, gentle soul, Jasmine is a pleasure to live with. More like living with a cat, Jasmine coexists in the home but it will take her a long time for her to fully trust people. She’s quiet, well behaved, gets along great with other dogs, and likes to hang out with humans, but doesn’t need attention. Jasmine is a very happy dog and almost has a sense of humor. She loves to go for walks. Jasmine is a highly intelligent dog and to watch her think is fascinating. Jasmine will need a patient and gentle owner and would do best living with another dog.

Jindos are a rare breed from Korea and researching the breed is highly recommended. Experience with Akitas, Shiba Inus, Sharpei, Chows, Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, Samoyeds, American Eskimos and a similar Spitz breed is preferred.

Knowledge of the Nothing in Life is Free theory and/or Cesar Millan’s methods are essential for a successful adoption. If you are interested in adopting Samantha, please visit www.treasuredk9s.org submit an adoption application.
