Update 11/7/12: It's me Amee, I'm all settled in with my foster family. Being in a home is such a new experience for me but, I love everything about it. Things here are so different from where I came from. I've never had the chance to go outdoors or walk on a leash. It's a little rough with the cold and damp weather but, my foster Mom says Spring will be here before we know it and she just knows I will love it. I'm getting used to the leash and and know it's a good thing that allows me to be with my foster Mom and explore new places. At first, being held frightened me. I was expecting to feel pain and discomfort but, my foster Mom told me there won't be anymore of that in my life and all good things are ahead for me. I've been spayed and had a lot of dental work done and the vet said I'm in good health. I'm working on house training and use the paper while in doors with very few accidents. I'm trying to get used to using the outdoor area. Everyday my old sad life is fading a little more.I enjoy meeting new people and getting to sit in their laps. My most favorite thing to do is spend time with foster Mom. I love to sit near her with my head in her lap and just look at her until I fall asleep, she says I have a quite the personality (who knew).
Initial Bio 10/15/12: Amee is a sweet and gentle little girl. She weighs about 10 pounds and is approximately 7 years old. She has spent her life as a breeding female in a puppy mill in Missouri until now. Her health care was very minimal and she is scheduled for a spay and dental treatment. She is currently taking antibiotics for her dental problems. Amee is eager to please and quick to learn. She is very laid back with the other dogs in her foster home. She house trained in just a couple of days and will be working on walking on a leash just as soon as she is all recovered from her spay and dental work. Amee will make a loving and loyal companion. Amee loves watching T.V. and snuggling in her blankie but, most of all she loves to be held and gently petted.
