My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HARVEY - ID#A008663
Harvey is a male, black and silver Kerry Blue Terrier mix. The shelter believes HARVEY was 10 months old when he arrived on July 24, 2007. He is extremely sweet and easygoing, and loves children. He stays close even off leash and will stay "down" next to you for long periods of time. If you have food, he will leap high in the air to try to get it! His energy level is all terrier and puppy, but he definitely has a heart of gold. At a recent community event everyone seemed to agree he was the most cooperative and photogenic dog there.

Harvey was brought in from another shelter as part of our THIRD CHANCE Program. Although he is very adoptable, he may have run out of time at the other shelter. He now has a Third Chance to find his forever home because of Pet Project Foundation's pro-humane effort.

Starting the adoption process you need to be 18 years or older, complete an application http://www.petprojectfoundation.org/dogadoption.pdf, be interviewed and it is strongly recommend all members of your household and any dogs you have at home must be brought in to socialize with the dog you wish to adopt in our play yard, to make the best match for everyone, and be able to verify with your landlord that you may have a pet if you are renting. Understand we reserve the right to deny the adoption of any pet for any reason. Also any additional requirements for the specific pet you are interested in adopting needs to be met. We adopt to the best home, not necessarily the first application turned in.

Applications are only accepted by FAX (949-366-4765), mail or in person. Sorry, no applications through the Internet.

Dog adoptions are $100 and include a microchip, spay or neuter, current shots, flea treatment if required, "New Owner" folder packed full of helpful information, and one free basic health examination within 5 days of adoption from a veterinarian on our list.

Our adopted dogs come with a SPECIAL BONUS of up to $80.00 toward training expenses within 6 months of adoption. We hope to provide a smooth and lasting transition into your household. Ask for complete details at the time you adopt your new companion dog.

Please call 949-492-1617 to check if your desired pet is still available or the status of your application. We are CLOSED Tuesdays. Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM. Monday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Sunday: Noon - 3:00 PM. We are very proud of our shelter, it is clean, welcoming, freeway close, and voted "Best Place to Adopt" by the Orange Coast Magazine!
