Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Oreo is an adorable, yet shy labrador mix that was found as a stray in Henderson. A really great couple took him and the dog running with him in and have been working on trying to find their forever home.
After several weeks of ads and other outlets of trying to find these owners, with no luck, they have decided to place him with the rescue. Unfortunately, they are not in a position to keep a third dog, which is why they are having us place him in the first place. He is absolutely as sweet as can be and they are already very attached to him.
They were able to place his less shy, "brother" with a friend of their family, but are still looking for a home for this guy.
He is very loving once he warms up to you. Because of his days on the street, he is a bit timid at first and must warm up to you before fully trusting you. Once you have that trust, you will see how worth it, it was.
His foster family has written the following about Oreo.
Oreo is a very gentle and playful dog. When we first rescued him, he was very shy and apprehensive. Oreo would hide under a table or retreat into a corner after any sudden movement or unexpected noise such as a door shutting or a sound from the TV. We thought he might have come from a troubled home because whenever we would raise or move our arms or hands to do anything such as reach for the remote control, he would retreat in fear and whimper as if we were going to harm him. However, after a few days of love and patience, Oreo has slowly gained our trust and now allows us to pet him and give him the love that he deserves. He is also very gentle with my other two beagles who just adore him and won’t leave him alone!
Oreo loves bathing in his water bowl, dipping his paws into the pool, playing chase with his friends, and just laying in the grass. When he’s not playing, he sleeps like a rock in my beagles’ bed which he has stolen. He also has found a hidden corner behind a chair in my home office, and I will not hear a peep from him as he naps the day away while I work. He’s a great dog to have around since he could be very quiet and behaved, and he won’t hound you for love unless you want to give him love which he’ll happily accept. He also enjoys finding little corners of the house to hide, receiving yummy treats, hanging out with his new friends, and receiving everlasting tummy rubs!
He is up to date on vaccines and will be microchipped and neutered prior to adoption.
