Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jill! "I am 18.5 pounds of friendly, feisty fun! I'm not telling how old I am, though maybe I'm 3-4. In my head, I'm barely a year old - I just want to play!"
Jill is free of mommy duties and enjoying life now! She seems to be doing everything she can to make up for time she spent confined and isolated. She has burst out of her shell. She is a bundle of energy and a very loud player. Any canine c...ompanion will need to not take offense to her rowdy play drive. Over time, she should quiet her play with 'gentle' coaching. For now, she seems bent on making up for years of no play.
Jill is a very friendly girl that can be handled all over without any issues. Outside of her relentless play drive while around other basenjis, she is one of the 'easier' basenjis. Her house manners are very good. She knows how to use a doggy door. In her new home, she will need to be watched carefully in the beginning to make sure that she gets all of the house rules right the first time. It appears that her foster home is her first house, so her new family will need to show her that all of the same rules apply to every house.
Jill does have a luxating patella, but it doesn't slow her down at all. She is now a well-muscled and very gregarious player. She is able to keep up with a 10 month old pup that is 50% bigger than she is (and yes, this is really play): http://youtu.be/t3drksdTeOY . She is able to jump up and down off of anything she chooses now - fortunately, she has not chosen to try for my desk or the table yet. Her new owner must make sure that she continues to get lots of exercise to keep or improve her current condition.
Jill is available for a $150 adoption fee to the right home now. If you are interested in Jill and feel you can provide the exercise and the guidance she needs, please contact us at flbasenji@gmail.com . Jill's DNA test for Fanconi has been ordered.
