Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Iris, one of the cutest little Pekes (maybe mixed with Chi?) we have seen in a long time. We think she’s also part-Siamese cat as she’s really a talker! She’s a nifty little package, only about 10 lbs., 2-3 yrs. old, with a lovely white coat. Taken in as a stray, she was pulled from the high-kill shelter in the nick of time. Iris came to us with a poor coat and itchy skin - so she should be fed a quality diet with limited ingredients, easily found in your local pet store chain. Good food has improved her coat tremendously!
Iris is a lively little girl, full of enthusiasm. She’s also a bit of a bossy pants, wanting to tell the rest of her pack - all 3 are males - what to do. Clearly, she had to fend for herself for food - she is lightning fast to pick up dropped food, so it’s important to monitor her for her manners with the other dogs around meal times and treats.
Iris is a very social girl and loves kids. She is learning to walk on leash and likes it. Nylabone is her favorite toy, although she will fetch any toy we throw for her. She is housebroken and will go on pads if necessary. All in all, she would be a great addition to an active family (but no toddlers, please).
Iris is being fostered in Millsboro, DE and her asking adoption fee is $275.
