Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATED BIO 10/13/2012: Jackson is an adorable little 4 year old yorkie who only weighs 5 lbs, but he should gain at least 1/2 - 1 lb to be a healthier weight. Jackson is being fostered in Mount Pleasant, SC. Jackson came through his cardiac cath to remove the heartworms just fine. He was a bit sore for a few days, but the hardest part for his foster parents was keeping him quiet! He is one active little boy! He wants to run and play with the other dogs, but that is not allowed during his recuperation, and also during the traditional heartworm treatment he must still have in 2-3 weeks.. Of course, this leaves Jackson unhappy with the situation, and he doesn’t realize that this must be done for his own good.
Jackson had his stitches removed on 10/11 and the vet said he was doing just fine. Keep watching for updates on little Jackson.
INITIAL BIO 09/17/2012: MEET JACKSON! He is an adorable little 4 year old yorkie who only weighs 5 lbs, but he should gain at leasta 1/2 - 1 lb to be a healthier weight. Jackson is being fostered in Mount Pleasant, SC.
Jackson was apparently abandoned when his former owners discovered that he had heartworm disease, totally preventable by giving him 1 HW pill a month. A kind-hearted lady found Jackson and took him to the vet for vaccinations - that is when she discovered he had heartworms, and she contacted UYR. Jackson will be in his foster home for 2-3 months while he is being treated for heartworms, however, we will begin taking adoption appications for him right away. Treating HW disease is expensive, so any contributions towards his treatment will be appreciated.
