My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 09/20/2012: ALFIE is a 10 year old 6.4 lb male Yorkshire terrier who was surrendered by his owner because her infant son was allergic to dogs. Alfie came in with Sammie (5 years old, 7 lbs) and they must be adopted together since they are bonded. Alfie was walking on only 3 legs when he arrived at Foster Mom’s home; his previous owner said that he had seen a vet and needed an FHO (femoral head ostectomy) ) – read more about this surgery here http://dcvets.org/surgical/fho.pdf. Alfie had his surgery today, along with a neuter which was made more difficult since he was cryptorchid – after a 6-8 week recovery, he will be running and playing again with his brother Sammie. This is an expensive surgery, but it will allow Alfie to run and play again without pain. The costs of this surgery will be $1,000 and any and all donations will be graciously accepted. He is a kind-hearted little boy and deserves to have a pain-free life. PLEASE NOTE: Alfie and Sammie must go to an adult-only household, older teenagers okay.

UPDATED BIO 09/13/2012: SAMMIE is a 5 year old 7 lb male Yorkshire terrier who was surrendered by his owner because her infant son was allergic to dogs. Sammie came in with Alfie (10 years old, 6.4 lbs) and they must be adopted together since they are bonded. Foster Mom says that Sammie is a very sweet and active little boy who is both house-trained and leash-trained. He and Alfie play with one another, although their play is rough at times and the foster parents are working with them on this. Sammie is very healthy and happy, but he is hesitant with new situations. Once he warms up to you, however, he is a snuggle-bug and loves loves loves his person.
