Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Believe it or not, Buddy is as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside. This big ( 65 lbs) gorgeous American Staffie was found wondering the streets of Brooklyn when he was picked up and brought to the city shelter. Within a few minutes, a volunteer noticed this handsome boy and went over to him to say hello. Buddy was in heaven. He got right up, and pushing himself against the bars of his cage, he tried his best to press his happy self against her. She was so taken by his warm, friendly personality and his great attitude, despite his severe circumstances. Several days passed and when the volunteer was at the shelter again, she went looking for her happy boy. Only this time, Buddy was not looking so good. Gone was all that positive energy and enthusiastic nature. He was lying down and barely had the strength to get up and come over to the volunteer. But he recognized her gentle voice and kindness. She couldn't believe the change in him. His eyes were glassed over and his nose was running. His head hung low. He was sick with a cold and worn out by the stress. He was sad and seemed to be giving up. The volunteer made some calls and Buddy was soon on his way to a vet, where he has been making a full recovery. Today he went on a,long walk to the park. His eyes are twinkling again. His hope has returned and so has his gentle energy. He loves to walk in the woods and sit under the trees and has already earned the nickname "Nature Boy"! Although he is just over a year old, give him a toy and he plays like a puppy. Buddy is a delight to walk and so far has shown only appropriate enthusiasm when meeting other dogs. He must have been in a home before because according to the vet workers, he is 100 % housebroken. He has had all his shots and in a few more days he will be neutered. This is a courtesy listing. If you would like to adopt, sponsor or foster Buddy, please call Ruth at 917 304 9291.
