Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Zeeva is our ~3 year old, Black Lab mix, that was surrendered to us by her owner. They could no longer keep her at their apartment. Zeeva is a very active and playful dog. She is housebroken, and was also crate-trained in her previous home. She was not walked on leash much, but walks better with a harness. She was used to being outdoors in a fenced yard alot. Her owners told us she was protective of their fenced yard when strangers would approach, and would alarm bark. We have been trying to work on this behavior with her, and she is getting better with people approaching her while she is in a fence or her kennel. She is a smart dog, and is learning to have leash manners, and also knows how to sit, shake, lay down, roll over and dance for treats! She was not destructive in the previous home. She has lived with children, but needs to be in a home with older kids (10 years and up). Zeeva was raised as an only pet, and is very dominant-aggressive towards other dogs. We have not found a dog that she will accept here at our shelter yet, and does not like when dogs approach her when she is spending time in our outdoor fenced yards. According to her previous owner she had a "bad experience" with a cat as a puppy, and is still holding a grudge
Zeeva would love to find a home that will take the time to keep her active. She loves the water, going for runs/walks/hikes, and playing fetch. If you are looking for a loyal companion, then come adopt Zeeva! If you are interested, please contact us or stop by to meet her. An approved adoption application is required to adopt a pet from our shelter. Visit our main website to view our application form. Once completed, applications may be submitted to us via email, fax or postal mail to begin the adoption process.
