I am Matilda.
I have been loved. My family bought me. They rented a nice place where we lived together. They took me to the vet and got me my shots. They had me spayed and heartworm tested. They kept me healthy. My family loved me but not enough.
Last week, my family moved. They didn’t take me. They left me shut in my crate on the patio. I sat and waited for them to come home. I was quiet as a mouse. Even though it was so hot outside and I really wanted some food, some water, someone to scratch my head and let me stretch my legs.
The neighbors started to wonder. “Where is that beautiful, friendly dog that used to live next door? I think I heard soft whining last night.” They found me!!!!!! I was so happy to see those neighbors!
It had been five days!! My crate was dirty and so was I! I rolled on my back in my yard and soaked up all the love and water I could find. Those neighbors didn’t know what to do with me. They talked about it. They told other neighbors I was still there. Then someone thought of Take Paws.
The next day I was here. I am thankful for those neighbors who helped me. The last day I was waiting for my family to come back, someone came over to clean my house. The found all sorts of my things. One of the things they found was my vet paperwork. It says I’m all up to date on everything! My vets office told Take Paws that I’ve always been a good girl.
Here in foster care, I have six other dogs to play with! Tiny dogs and big dogs, old dogs and puppies. I love them all very much. There’s even a little kitten that I love to battle with. Unfortunately for my foster parents, kitten and I like to battle at bedtime!
I get to go for rides and meet new people and pets. I love everyone I meet and have never barked or growled at a new person or dog. There is even a very small two legged boy in this house and I love him too! He smiles and squeals at me and I do my best not to knock him over.
I am house broken, crate trained and I know a few basic commands. It’s pretty hard to sit when your tail is wagging as fast as mine does!
I miss my old family. I’m not mad at people because I was abandoned by them. I’m hopeful for a new family of my own. I am a good girl and they tell me here that someone will love me for how good I am. Someone will come along and not be afraid that I am called a Pit Bull. Are you someone for me?
Tillie is a 15 month old, brindle, Pit Bull Terrier. She is current on all her vet work, microchipped, animal and child friendly. Her adoption fee is $200. Tillie will fit nicely into most any active home.
