Cisco's time was up at the shelter and we saved him from being put down. He, along with many others, are deemed not adoptable when they test positive for heart worms but if you treat them the dog can be 100% healthy, and that is what we intend to do for him. He is an energetic, playful dog who is very sweet and deserves a second chance. He arrived at our rescue Sept 1, 2012 so we have not had very much time with him but so far he plays well with others and is gentle with everyone he has met. He rides well in the car and has a thick fluffy coat that will need grooming but he is stunning! His size is just right too, not too big and he has a outstanding gait.
Update 10/17/2012
Cisco; is a long coated German shepherd, but was trimmed back due to lots of mats in his fur when he arrived. Brushing him weekly will keep this from happening. He is a beautiful boy with a loving sweet disposition. He sleeps loose because he really hates the crate and is totally reliably housetrained. He doesn’t bother things not his, but had one incident of chewing on a table leg and was corrected.
He gets along fine with other dogs and all people. He is neutered; all shots, micro chipped and a low HW+ and will soon get his treatment for that.
Cisco is another Velcro German Shepherd always by your side or nearby. With 9-12 GSDs at my house any trip to anywhere in the house is a parade.
Cisco is exceptionally beautiful and loving boy and will be great with any family He is still a puppy with playful personality, loves toys and romping with his buddies. He did an overnight visit with a family recently and they said he was wonderful and fit in easily with their dogs and family. A great house guest for them and they enjoyed him.
I have taken him to Walgreens and Tractor Supply and he behaved beautifully and got lots of attention and complements on both his looks and behavior.
