Hadassah (Dassi) was born in Arizona, then a year ago moved to Kansas with their owners and her housemate, Ollie. When the family had a second child, they decided they were not able to give the dogs the time they needed so they looked for rescue to take them. Because she loves to ride in the car, Dassi requires close supervision, as she will run up to strange cars, hoping to go for a ride. Dassi (aka: “NudeeBits” or "Noodle") is a 7 pound grey and white girl who spins in circles when she's excited - which is often. She
LOVES to go outside WITH you, and she has a passion for taking walks. Dassi does not like to be outside without her person however, and as soon as she's done with her "business" she's at the door, crying to get in. She will also stand at the door and cry like a little puppy separated from it’s mom if she's left inside while her fostermom goes outside. Dassi has some significant separation anxiety, and if she's left alone she will cry and worry, sometimes to the point she makes herself sick. She is learning to allow some space between herself and her fostermom, but she has to see or touch her fostermom regularly. If Dassi is not sleeping soundly she will get up and follow her fostermom whenever she leaves the room, so if you adopt this little one you must be prepared to deal with her high need for contact.
Dassi is not suitable for a home where no human will be home for an extended time, on a regular basis. Trips to the store, occasional short absences, she will get by, but this dog cannot handle a significant amount of separation. Because she is SO little and hairless, it is not unreasonable that she could go pretty much everywhere with her person. Dassi loves being very close; one of her favorite places to nap is under her fostermom's shirt! She also gives hugs, putting her paws on either side of fostermom's neck and pressing her head against fostermom's face. Dassi is very loving to her "brother" Ollie, and the pair often engage in "lick fests", where they clean each other's ears, head and neck. Despite her tiny size, she has a dominant personality, and will not hesitate to try to "boss" the other dogs in a typical "small dog syndrome" way. For more pix of Dassi please
