Here's what the humans have to say about me:
All HSWA dogs are in foster homes and need an appointment to be seen. Please call 205-554-0011 or email humaneswa@yahoo.com to request an appointment to see the dog/puppy and to check availability. Before choosing a pet, we recommend meeting the pet or ask questions first.
ChiChi, the mullet dog! Shepherd in the front and Corgi in the rear!
Ah, another "natural designer" dog -- meet ChiChi, a 3-year-old female Corgi/Shepherd mix. That's been the best guess!!! Quite an astounding look! She's jut the best of both breeds! Cute ChiChi has a long body with short legs like a Corgi, but has the head and tail like a shepherd - and the ears of a dachshund, perhaps. Her coat is brown and black, and is pretty thick. ChiChi is a small girl, weighing only 22 pounds, and is full-grown. Beautiful and loving ChiChi was picked up as a stray/abandoned animal by Animal Control and taken to our local shelter, so it was no surprise when no one came to claim her. She had been down there for almost two months, so her clock was ticking!! We knew she could find that perfect home with just a little bit more time, so we pulled her into our no-kill rescue.
ChiChi is very friendly and social. She seems to have a rather calm demeanor and not overly active. We'd say she has a pretty mild energy level, though she would be active enough to go for a jog with a new owner. Cichi is at a size and age to be more of an inside pet. She would make a nice apartment dog, but she would need daily walks to get enough exercise. ChiChi would make a great companion dog for an older person. She is gentle and friendly, and does well with children. She seems to interact very well with other dogs. We are working on her crate training.
ChiChi is up to date on her vet care, spayed and is heartworm negative. She is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. ChiChi is ready to come sit and snuggle on the coach with you, so make room for ChiChi!
