My story

The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're an all-volunteer group and need advance notice to schedule appointments. We cannot accept same-day appointments.

This big overstuffed cotton ball is White Lightning, a very bold name! He's a very bold, lively guy! Lightning is a large Maine Coon/Flame-Point Siamese mix (also known as Red-Point), approximately 4 years old. He is pure white, and a dazzling shade, we must say! He has the Maine Coon body style and fur length, plume tail and fuzzy paws/ear tips. But she's snow white, with only slight Siamese flame orange coloring on his head. He is absolutely gorgeous, especially in person! No pictures will ever do this handsome man justice. We like to call White Lightning our cowardly lion. He has such a fierce look, but has the personality of a fuzzy kitten - maybe he assumes he still is a baby? Lightning is a very gentle, laid-back guy, just like a typical Maine Coon. He's pretty calm when meeting new people and not very lively, but is much more confident after he adjusts to his new environment or to new people. He is very friendly, and as gentle as a lamb. He's been great with older, gentle children. He isn't a fan of dogs, but coexisted peacefully with a couple while he was in foster care, as long as they were separated and he didn't have to come face-to-face with them. He's sociable and friendly with other cats, but is first and foremost a human-lover and would do well as an only pet, too. Lightning absolutely loves attention!
Back or belly rubs, ear scratches, tv time in the living room, nap time. . .any time is his favorite time to hang out with his human friends! He's looking for new, permanent best friends now, so please stop in at our cat adoption center or contact us to meet this handsome guy!

Negative for FIV and FeLK, current on vaccinations and fixed.

Our adoption fee is temporarily reduced to only $50, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters.
