Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're an all-volunteer group and need advance notice to schedule appointments. We cannot accept same-day appointments.
Before choosing a pet, we recommend meeting the pet or ask questions first. For information on a specific animal, please visit our adoption center or email us at humaneswa@yahoo.com!
This gorgeous ash blue girl is Smoke, a medium-haired Russian Blue mix female kitten. She's approximately 10 weeks old (7/15). Smoke is medium-haired at her young age, and it may stay this length or grow out a little longer as she matures. Smoke is a very friendly girl who loves to socialize! She loves to get in the middle of whatever we're doing, so she'd be perfect in a home where she knows she'll be the center of attention! Smoke is likely to follow your every move and try to be a part of every activity! Even when she's tired, she'll want to sit close to you for company. She's gentle and mild-mannered, but will be a bit too small to be a playmate with young children without constant supervision. She's small and fragile, too.
Be prepared for special needs with small kittens. Know they do need special care in a very safe environment, along with extra time to bond with you, before considering adopting a tiny kitten. Kittens should not be left alone very long, so leaving them alone during 9 to 5 work hours isn't a good option. That's a living situation better suited for much older kittens. We would not recommend her in a home with dogs weighing more than 10 lbs. Smoke has never been around dogs, and would not know how to protect herself in an unpredictable situation. Smoke currently lives at our cat adoption center, so stop in to meet her and all her friends!
Negative for FIV and FeLK, current on vaccinations.
Our adoption fee is temporarily reduced to only $50, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters.
To apply for adoption, visit http://humanesocietyofwa.org/formsinfo.html to fill out an online application. Since Smoke is too young to be spayed, an additional $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit is required at time of adoption to reinforce state law for all shelter/rescue animals to be fixed either before or after adoption. When animals are adopted from a shelter or rescue without being fixed due to young age, adopters are are required by law to have the animal fixed (at or before age 6 months). The spay/neuter deposit is refunded later upon delivery of proof (a certificate or vet records) that the kitten has been fixed. We must receive proof of the surgery by age 6 months, no matter the deposit. Pediatric spaying/neutering is an option to discuss with your vet around 4 months of age.
