My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're an all-volunteer group and need advance notice to schedule appointments. We cannot accept same-day appointments.
Before choosing a pet, we recommend meeting the pet or ask questions first. For information on a specific animal, please visit our adoption center or email us at humaneswa@yahoo.com!

Give Me a Home by Christmas for FREE!

The Humane Society of West Alabama's Home for the Holidays campaign aims to have as many homeless pets home as possible by the end of December! During November & December 2012, we've waived adoption fees for adult cats 1 year and older and reduced younger cats' fees to only $40! Make a cat's Christmas wish come true!

This beautiful little lady is Miss Kitty, our slightly elderly clack and white cat. Miss Kitty is about 10 years old. But considering her energy level, you wouldn't know it! Miss Kitty enjoys greeting every visitor and volunteer. She also absolutely loves attention. She doesn't necessarily beg for it, but she's always welcome to it. Miss Kitty loves curling up in plush pet beds, especially if it's on a high surface. We're trying to steer her away from higher surfaces, due to her age, but she just won't have it! She's aiming to still have fun and live it up! But she really wants a new home to entertain her and keep her company. Miss Kitty is very gentle ans sweet, and is wonderful with children, but we'd hesitate to adopt her as a pet for young children due to her slight frailty she seems to ignore. She shouldn't interact with energetic dogs or other dominant cats, as well. Please visit us during our open hours or contact us for an appointment!

Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters.
