Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Kato- 10- month old Male. Kato was pulled from a high kill shelter in Texas along with his brother back in April. Kato came down with parvo but NADSR was able to pull together a fundraiser to have him treated. Tiko, Kato's brother was adopted out a month ago and is doing great. Kato has now made a full recovery and is ready for adoption. He is an energetic dog that will need an active owner. At the same time, that owner should have some experience with working dogs. If he has some very clear boundaries, he does rather well. If Kato is left unmannered, he can run the house/kennel. He does have prey drive, but mostly concerning live things (lizards, frogs, possibly cats) He is not showing interest in toys and have not seen that improve with time. Right now, his attention span is very limited. He has never offered any aggression towards people only unwanted behavior that might include jumping up to face level and snapping, puppy behavior, not aggression and has totally stopped that now in foster. Kato walks well on a leash, has a good sit, fair down, questionable 'come'. He is totally crate trained and would probably transition easily to being totally house broken. He craves attention and asks for it nonstop! but has not bonded yet. It would be very understandable under the circumstance of having been neglected first and then bounced around a horrible lot in the past few months. He is not dog aggressive, but will try to answer a challenge, and is easy to correct at this time. He is still a total pup. There is a wonderful future companion under all this. He is going to be a good looking dog, who, with a lot of guidance, might make a good dog for someone who is willing to rehabilitate this boy. Absolutely clear rules, consistency and a lot of love and attention will be warranted. Kato will hopefully do the rest from there.
He is located in TX, but we do adopt out nationally. He is altered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccines and free of heartworm and intestinal parasites.
