The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're an all-volunteer group and need advance notice to schedule appointments. We cannot accept same-day appointments.
To adopt, we need to receive your application (link to the online version found below). All our animals are rescued from different situations and have different personalities, so don't choose a new pet just by their looks. Always meet the pet or ask questions first. For information on a specific animal, please visit our adoption center or email us at humaneswa@yahoo.com!
Please meet gorgeous Pearl, a short-haired Lilac-Point female Siamese mix. Pearl is a young adult between 2 - 3 years of age. Pearl was turned loose outdoors, something she had no clue how to survive in, and abandoned as her owners moved away. Poor Pearl! She wasn't spayed, and eventually had a litter of kittens by the time she was found. Well, she was hungry enough to bother her neighbors until cat lovers found her! Pearl's kittens are finally weaned, and she received her much-overdue spay surgery! Yay! Poor Pearl was not well taken care of, even before her former owners threw her away. She's so gorgeous!! Can you believe it?!? Keep in mind that Pearl is a Siamese with the typical Siamese personality, so we would not recommend her with young children or any children who are hoping to handle her frequently. When it comes to Siamese, everything has to be their decision and at their own pace! Pearl has been through a lot, so we're hoping to find her a peaceful, loving home full of attention and plenty of time to spend bonding with her - Siamese are notorious for forming close bonds with those closest to them. . .and typically ignoring or shunning the rest! But Pearl might be a bit more easygoing than the typical Siamese personality! She's truly a rare treasure. Pearl believes the world is her oyster, and she knows that her perfect new home is somewhere out there, waiting to find her! Stop in at our cat adoption center during open hours or contact us to ask about and meet Pearl!
