Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Max is a very special dog who needs an equally special adopter.
Max was born on 12/11/11. At that time Max, his mother Gretchen, and his littermates were under the control of a 'rescue' that did not provide them with any veterinary care. Prior to Animal Advocates of Michigan taking in Gretchen and her pups, Max's right hind leg was broken. Whether due to infection or some other force, the lower portion of Max's femur was destroyed.
After consulting with our vet and an orthopedic surgeon and considering that Max is comfortable and using the leg, we decided not to amputate the leg. Max runs, jumps, plays with other dogs, and generally acts like a typical 7 month old puppy. He's a very happy, well-adjusted, and outgoing pup.
Max will never walk or run like a completely normal dog and his right hind leg is a bit shorter than the left, but he will still live a relatively normal life. The worst case scenario is that someday the leg may bother him and may need to be amputated but dogs tolerate only having three legs very well. Max's body is still trying to repair itself and we're having additional radiographs taken at three month intervals. Photo's of Max's first two sets of radiographs are posted on our website at www.AnimalAdvocatesMI.org
Are you special enough for Max? If so, please email us at Contact@AnimalAdvocatesMI.org for an Adoption Application.
