Meet Chester!
Be sure not to overlook this little guy in your search for a great companion! A nice mix between a Chihuaua and a daschund -or a pug or a pekinese -(our best guesses) this boy seems to have only the best parts of each breed. Chester is super friendly with all people PLUS most dogs, cats AND kids. (He currently enjoys the company of the five and seven-year-old children in his foster home very much.)
Chester loves to cuddle and be by your side no matter what you're involved in and is just an easygoing little (10 lb) fellow. He gets a little bit nervous on car rides, but makes up for it by his outright enthusiasm when he realizes you've chosen an awesome park as your destination. Just watching the look on his face and his excited enthusiasm as he heads out on a walk (or a trek through the woods) and you can tell that this little guy is a dog who really enjoys his adventures.
At the nice mellow age of seven, Chester can really keep up with the best of 'em, yet is experienced in life enough not to drive you completely nuts. He is spirited and spunky and, yet, also laid back if that is your speed. He is also blissfully free of most of the issues that the smaller toy dogs tend to come in with. He loves to give kisses and cuddle up next to you. And though our boy may give a bark when strangers enter your home, he is easily quieted down with a word or two. He can be a bit shy at first but, after a couple of minutes spent petting him and talking kindly, even your friends will fall in love with this sweetie.
Chester comes fully vetted, neutered and up to date on all vaccines. He is also completely housebroken and is equally happy either in a crate or behind a short baby gate while you need to be away from him. (It's possible that he may not need to be confined at all while you are gone, we just haven't had a chance to test this out yet. )
So if you're looking for a little sidekick who's up for adventure whenever you are, but who won't take up too much space in the car (or on a plane) consider this little guy!
