Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This little boy is "Klondike", a 9 month old male Shiba Inu/American Eskimo mix puppy. Klondike was surrendered to the Denver Dumb Friends League Buddy Center in Castle Rock. Klondike needs a little work with crate training and needs basic training as he is energetic and will jump, nip and mouth at people in order to get them to play with him. He tends to be alright with dogs if they are off leash but he is already very aggressive and assertive with dogs on leash due to past bad experiences. Some great resources for him would be the books "Click to Calm" and "Feisty Fido".
Klondike appears to be potty trained when under supervision. As a puppy we would not recommend leaving him unattended or loose in a home if someone is sleeping or gone at work. Because of this Klondike is working on crate training and he is doing fairly well. He is quiet in the crate unless other dogs are outside his crate or if he doesn't get enough exercise. At this point I would not recommend him in an apartment because of his leash aggression with other dogs and because of his barking. We feed him his meal in the crate so he has a positive association with the crate.
Klondike currently does good with cats in our Intake Coordinator’s home and with her several foster dogs, because they are all off leash together in a large yard. He loves to play tug with Violet, a pure bred Eskimo, and Livic, a Shiba/Basenji mix, and dig in their designated digging spot.
Klondike's adoption his fee is $350.00 which includes his neuter, microchip, preliminary vaccinations, deworming and a training course.
