My story

Hi! My name is Peanut and I’m available for adoption!
I’m a Pekingese and used to be a breeder at a puppy mill where I had some rough times. After lots of TLC, I finally learned what it’s like to be a normal dog and can’t wait to show my new family how good I am! I’m housetrained, leash-trained and don’t bite, bark, jump, whine, or beg! I don’t have a mean bone in my body so I love everybody I meet, including other dogs, cats and even babies.
Pekingese live between 12-15 years and I’m only 8, so I like to consider myself middle-aged. I’m super low maintenance and since I came from a puppy mill, I’m still learning how to play but I do love to get scratched and follow you everywhere. (Ninety-nine percent of the time if you look down, I’m within a 5 foot radius of you.) I LOVE attention and my eyes close and my body relaxes every time you love on me. But I know humans have very busy lives so I won’t ever beg; I’m just happy to be by you. When I get scratched/picked up, my foster parents always like to laugh at how limp I get and they love to flip me on my back while I make funny oinking noises.
My favorite thing to do eat! I get so excited when it’s breakfast or dinnertime, I sit like my foster mom wants me to, but my butt and tail can’t stop wiggling. I hear them tell me I’m quite a sight! When it’s time for my foster parents to eat I won’t make a noise, but I do like to properly sit close by to show them how good I am. And if you turn your head, I’ll move and properly sit again, just in case you happened to miss it, but I won’t ever jump on you or beg for food.
I am very eager to please and will do anything to show you how thankful I am to have a good home! My adoption fee is only $200 to cover my expenses while I am in foster care.
