Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mommy Lizzie. She was rescued from the Animal Rescue League and taken to a wonderful foster home so she could have her kittens. Unfortunately she went into premature labor and aborted the first kitten. It seemed like she was having difficulty so her foster mom took her to the vet. An x-ray revealed that the next kitten was not in the correct position to be born, and the vet felt he was not going to be able to change it's position significantly enough to allow the birth. This meant emergency surgery to save Lizzie, and to attempt save any viable kittens. A group of extremely kind veterinarians rearranged their afternoon so one of them could see patients while the other performed surgery on Lizzie. Unfortunately, the kittens were not big enough to survive on their own, but Lizzie made it through okay. Because she was sick with an upper respiratory infection when the surgery was needed and the anesthesia lowers an immune system she has become extremely ill. As of Sunday (today) Lizzie is still at the vet on iv's of antibiotics and fluids to try to bring down her temperature of 106 and begin to make headway against the infection. She too is an extremely sweet, affectionate girl who needed our help and is very, very deserving of it. Any donations would be greatly appreciated! Please visit our website or stop by one of our adoption events to find out how to help. Thank You!
Lizzie Update!
She is so sweet and laid back. She took the two little foster kittens as her own. When she came back from the Vet hospital, Lizzie adopted those two, they laid with her, tried to nurse from her, although I know that there was no milk. She still allowed them to cuddle with her. She cleans them and watches over them every day. Today, when we were giving the last dose of de-wormer to everyone, the little male was crying; Lizzie stood at our feet meowing and yelling at us till we put him down. She went over to him and started washing him and snuggling with him. She is just an AWESOME cat! Also her fur is like silk, I have never felt such soft, silky fur.
