Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
When we think of animal abuse, we generally think of deliberate cruelty or harsh punishment. But there is another type of abuse that is all too common and never reported. As you can see from Camilla's "before" photos, she had not been bathed or brushed in a very long time -- if ever. What happens to long-haired dogs when they are not regularly groomed is their hair gets tangled and matted, and as time goes on it gets more and more matted; it attracts foxtails and stickers which become embedded into the dog's skin; it soaks up and holds urine which burns the skin; and eventually the matts become so tightly entangled they begin to tear the dog's skin. This is what happened to Camilla.
Our wonderful groomer (Jenny @ Dilly Dally Grooming in Visalia) patiently worked with Camilla for nearly a week, and she said Camilla was a very good girl throughout the entire process -- no doubt grateful that someone was finally taking care of her, and that it no longer hurt every time she moved. Camilla is now clean and happy, and actually has a little hair left (not much!). She has some bald spots and scabby areas where the matts were tearing at her skin, but they will heal and her hair should grow back beautifully.
We think Camilla is about 3 yrs old, and she weighs 10.5 lbs (but she is overweight; the vet said she should weigh about 8 lbs). Camilla is a very sweet girl, and so happy to be clean and out of the shelter. She gets along great with everyone, including kids and other dogs, and she doesn't bother the cats. When we're out in the yard, she loves to chase the butterflies and the birds, with her tail wagging constantly. She's so delighted to finally be able to see again!
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, vet checked, current on vaccinations, microchipped, groomed, de-wormed, de-flea'd, and come with a collar, leash, ID tag, and puppy kisses from the lucky dog you take home!
If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Camilla, the first step is to submit an adoption application. Please go to our website www.k9bestfriendsforever.com and click on "Adopt" which will take you to our online application form. CAMILLA IS BEING FOSTERED IN ROSEVILLE.
