Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Quincy (or Quince Charming to my friends!) I am a tenderhearted 5-6 year-old neutered AmStaff/Terrier/Chessie mix who is dreaming of a home to call my own. I have been waiting over 2 long years for an owner to come for me, but so far, nothing. If it wasn’t for the love and kindness of LAP volunteers, I would have given up a long time ago.
The volunteers say I’m simply lovely; sweet-as-pie! ‘An ol’ soul in a young body’ they say. I am a cool, calm and collected buck whose tail is always wagging. I am a good listener--I know my basic commands: sit, down, stay, wait, easy, leave-it. I also take treats gently from your fingers and readily give up sweet kisses. I am behaved while being bathed and like to be brushed. A few of my most treasured pastimes are going on nice walks, jogging beside you and going for swims. As you can see by these pictures, the kiddie pool is the best invention known to doggies. I love car rides and getting Chicken McNuggets from the drive-thru. Snuggling up with people and planting my big tushy on laps is my trademark!
I would make a most excellent companion to an experienced owner. I have no issues with my food or toys. I am housebroken. I will not chew your remote, your eyeglasses, your couch or chair legs. I will not dig out your flowers, run paths into your lawn or jump over the fence. I will not mount your leg, jump up, lick you incessantly or bark my head off. I will simply be the forever friend you can cuddle with when you're lonesome, lick your face when you cry tears, be goofy with you when you're happy and lend you an ear without judgement. I offer you my unconditional love.
In return, I ask that you feed me good food, give me exercise and bestow a juicy bone every now and then. I will relish kind talk and a pat on the head when you come home. I ask that you be sensitive to the fact that I have spent years in a shelter. Please provide a warm, soft place to lay my head.
To know me is to love me. If you believe in second chances, please call my friends at League for Animal Protection of Huntington at 631-757-9373. If you adopt me, we can start a new year—a new life—together.
