My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dhabi is a beautiful, 5-yr-old biggy that needs a very kind home to call his own. He was acquired from a puppy mill, only to be taken to a home with an abusive and neglectful man for 2 years. It has taken him several months to learn to trust people and his journey isn't over. However, we truly believe that if you are willing to walk with him, you will find the greatest reward at the end of the path!

Dhabi is very friendly and accepting of other dogs - IGs and larger breeds - and doesn't mind cats. His new home needs to be low-activity and a mostly-home parent would be ideal. The more time you spend with him, the faster he will come around and let you show him that he will never be hurt again. He becomes more accepting of new people every day. He no longer fears going bye-bye in the car and is ready to be a real companion.

Dhabi is doggy-door trained and almost never has an accident. He would prefer to not be crated and has become accustomed to sleeping in the bed with his foster Mom at night. He really needs to have another dog in his new home to help him learn the rules and reinforce that people are good. He is located in Talihina, OK, which is about 4 hours southeast of Oklahoma City.
