Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I am deaf! Please read my Complete Bio to understand.......
Hi! My name is Lucy!! I am a 1 yr old Female Boston Terrier, about 15lbs, up to date, spayed, and house and crate trained........
I was found running the streets of Weatherford by a very nice family. They picked me up and took me home and found a great rescue to take care of me until I can find my forever home.
I am currently learning sign language so that my foster family can talk to me, they say I am very smart and try very hard to please. No one knows if I was born this way or if there was some trauma to my ears that made me lose my hearing. Other than my deafness, I am a very healthy girl.
I am learning how to be a dog, socialize, and play. I walk very nicely on a leash and enjoy car rides. I also like to chase cars, so you have to watch me closely and make sure that I don’t get away from you when we are walking. I also like to chase bugs in the house and yard. I love to with toys, play with the other dogs and I love to sit in your lap and have you pet me.
The kind of home that I will need is one that is either experienced with deaf dogs or is willing to research the needs of deaf dogs and is willing to continue the training that I am going through so that you can communicate with me. It might take me some time to build a trusting and strong relationship. You must be willing to put in the time and effort to establish this with me. I would prefer a home with children over 10 years of age because of my special needs. I do startle easily because I can’t hear you coming.
www.ddeaf.com Requirments: With her special needs Lucy does require a patient family that is willing to put her through deaf dog training with a dog trainer to knows how to train a deaf dog..
