My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kipp is a mixedbreed German Shepherd/Labrador, tan and black, 11mo. old This handsome guy is quiet and sweet natured, about 60 lbs, well mannered and knows "sit" of his obedience commands, and walks well on a leash. He's very gentle and soft in his mannerisms and loves hugs and grooming. He is house-trained and barks or whines to go outside, crate trained and rides well in the car. He is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. He is polite when around new people and behaves well indoors and out, and he has even learned how to retrieve! He's a great companion animal, as well as being beautiful, and has a super great temperment and happy personality. He's very social at public events like softball games and greets people and other dogs in a friendly way and likes petting. He likes children and is very smart. He plays super well with other dogs and was picked up as a stray by animal control and never claimed. He will only be adopted to a home where he comes indoors with his people, and has an outdoor area to exercise in. An adoption application and fee applies, we are a licensed shelter and breed rescue. We really like this pup, he's so positive and agreeable. We are located near Springfield, Illinois and we are on Facebook, see A. Lincoln SAR K9 German Shepherd Rescue Shelter. Kipp was previously adopted for five months this summer, and he was good there with two boys ages 5 & 7, an infant girl and two little Yorkies. They returned him when Dad had to get a second job, and Mom was pretty housebound with the infant and homeschooling the two boys. So with the cooler weather and less active outdoors time for Kipp, the family decided it would be fairer to return Kipp for a chance at a second family. He's a great friendly dog and lots of fun, they were disappointed to have to return him. He did live indoors with them, had a crate indoors and a covered kennel run outdoors.
