Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Remmy is a little chihuahua or chi mix who has had a tough life. He's about 8 pounds and perhaps 5-7 years old. Remmy was rescued from a woman who planned to dump him in the woods because after two years of having him she didn't want him anymore. Once in a great foster home, It took Remmy a few days to bond to the fosters, but he now loves all the attention he gets. He does enjoy having the other small dogs to hang out with. Remmy is house trained, does not need to be kenneled and will use puppy pads if he needs to. He is moderate in his activity level. Remmy does love to run in the yard and just be a dog. He is not yet leash trained well, but he can be off leash in the yard and follows all directions to stay close to you. Remmy loves to snuggle and be near you. He is fine with other children 10 and older. Remmy gives back so much love and just enjoys being in your company. Remmy would like a quieter home with older kids and someone home much of the time although he could be home for a work day. Remy is with a 501c3 nonprofit rescue. He came to rescue with no veterinary care. His $300 adoption fee partially covers his full veterinary care including neuter, dental, heartworm test and pill, shots, worming, flea/tick prevention and he has a HomeAgain microchip.
To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.
