Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mandy
Shih Tzu-Yorkie mix 12#
Born December 25, 2004
Mandy was picked up as a stray dog in April 2012. She had been neglected for a very long time and didn't feel well. Little Mandy was very matted and her toenails were dangerously long. She came to us in May of 2012 and her healing process began.
This happy, wiggly dog used to be someone's beloved. How she ended up homeless is anyone's guess. She is sweet, housetrained and joyful. The vets believe she is between 7-8 years old, so we assigned her a Christmas birthday 7.5 years ago. When Mandy is uncontrollably happy, she squeaks!
Mandy is blind in her right eye, the result of a congenital defect. She has normal vision in her left eye. She had some painful teeth removed and has approximately 6 teeth left. Mandy will appreciate soft food from now on. She had a small bladder stone that was dissolved with diet and antibiotic. She eats Hill's cd canned food and begs for more. Oh, and speaking of begging - Mandy walks on her back legs, puts her paws together and paws the air while she smiles at you. If you can resist this charming dance, you're much stronger than her foster mom!
Mandy can't jump high enough to get in bed with her people. (Plus, we are afraid she could roll out when she goes into her happy little "rapture rolls".) She's quite content to cuddle up on a dog bed with her flannel blankie, and sleeps the night away without getting up.
This energetic lovebug has stolen everyone's hearts. She's the essence of rescue, a happy and prancing little girl who survived losing the people who once loved her. Mandy enjoys watching other dogs but would much prefer to be your spoiled little princess. She has a lot of love and gratitude to give you, if you have room in your heart. Her tail is almost always wagging.
