Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MOO MOO is a tomboy girl. She LOVES to roll in the grass, explore the creeks, build forts & climb trees :) But her favorite color is PINK!! Little Miss MOO MOO, or the "MOOSTER" as we affectionately call her, may not be the most "glamorous" dog on the block, but she has a beauty that is far more than fur deep! She has cornered the market on the CUTE BUTT WIGGLE & will leave you laughing on your worst of days. MOO MOO was rescued by NMDOG with the help & support of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department. Our findings have uncovered a pretty lonely past for this sweet girl.
Apparently, MOO MOO had a nice family once, with kids she adored, grass to roll in & a soft place to lay her head. It was about as good as it gets for a dog. Until one day, someone stole MOO MOO from her family & she was never recovered. That is, not until nearly 4 years later when she was picked up by a dedicated officer of the BCSO. She found MOO MOO on the side of the road, in terrible shape, skinny, full of fleas & ticks, scared & trembling, suffering from severe skin & eye allergies. That is when we were called in to assist. After a microchip scan, we found out about MOO MOO's previous family & her sad story of being separated from them. Her family has since moved to another state & the children were told that MOO MOO had died :(
Unfortunately, a reunion with her previous people was not going to be in her future. But as we always tell all of our dogs, "It is time to look to the bright future that lies ahead for you & let your past sadness disappear". MOO MOO was just fine with that & she is only looking forward!!
MOO MOO gets to spend time at the BCSO sub station, greeting victims of domestic abuse, providing soft fur to cry into & a butt wiggle to make them laugh! She escorts prisoners to the holding cell & protects the Deputies during this most dangerous event :) She sits in on briefings & is often called upon for her insight & compassionate opinion. We think MOO MOO would make the PERFECT therapy dog, visiting patients in hospitals, residents of nursing homes & children in foster care. She absolutely SHINES when she is in service & the comfort & joy she brings to others is obvious. MOO MOO has a purpose in life that she has not yet fulfilled. She is currently participating in our in house obedience program & is learning SO fast...she is very, VERY smart! MOO MOO is house trained, crate trained, good on a harness & leash, knows how to sit & has wonderful inside manners. She is a perfect size too, right around 45 lbs.
MOO MOO is appx 5 years young. MOO MOO will need to spend the majority of her time INSIDE a home, her eyes are quite sensitive to the sun & wind. That is way she comes with her own PINK SUNGLASSES!! Please contact us today to arrange a meet & greet with MOO MOO in your home!!
As an all volunteer, foster based rescue, NMDOG is ALWAYS in need of new, approved foster homes in order to continue our work SAVING LIVES!!
