My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tex Mex is an adorable almost 1 year old male shepard mix (we think beagle with those ears) who is the sweetest dog - he was at the shelter for a bit but has beenboarding in our vet clinic in Tennesse for aboug 4 weeks now - he's healthy and ready to get the heck out of there.

THis boy will be about 45-50 lbs full grown - he's 30 now and he has a little more to go.

He is working on his house training - probably would do best in a house with a fenced in yard so you can let him out often until he gets the hang of it!

Medical: Tex is neutered, up to date on his shots, HW negative, and healthy.

The women at the animal hospital keep saying how awesome Tex is. He amuses himself out on the patio for hours, he'll take a toy and throw it in the air for himself and chase it. How precious! For the women at the animal hospital to comment this much on one little puppy speaks volumes as to the kind of dog Tex is! They see hundreds of dogs every week, and they just LOVE this little man!

He does not have "accidents" in his crate area, or even on the patio outside - he waits to go until the women at the hospital tell him to! Way to go Tex!!

We are part of a network of rescuers that work to save the dogs in the Memphis, Tennessee area...before rescue stepped in, 80% of the dogs in the shelter were euthanized within 5 days. We pull dogs from the shelter and immediately take them to the vet clinic, where they are thoroughly examined, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and boarded until we find a foster or forever home for them. Because of the lack of foster space, these dogs very often are not transported to our area until a committed adoptive home is found. We realize that adopting a dog sight unseen can be a stressful experience, and we assure you that we do everything we can to make the best match possible, both for the dog and the adopters. Every dog is tested with children, other dogs, and cats when needed.
