UPDATE June 3: Blossom is doing fabulously in foster care. She is great with dogs of all sizes, and absolutely loves the children in her foster home. She will playfully chase cats, its more of a game than anything serious for her. She has been an absolute doll since her arrival, and her foster parents are finding it hard not to get too attached! On arrival we did find that her one eye was quite sore. She was taken to the vet, where she was diagnosed with entropion, a condition where the eyelid turns in to the eye, causing pain as the eyelids poke into the eye itself. She was examined twice in the last month and both vets felt it was secondary to some inflammation in the eye, so we've been treating the infection and crossing our fingers when it resolves, so will her entropion. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. She is scheduled for surgery this coming week.
Bess is a sweet dog who's time ran out at a pound she was in. We have little information on her at this moment. She is scheduled to arrive with Barlee's the weekend of May 12th. This is how she is being described by shelter volunteers: "I was at the pound this morning and it breaks my heart the way she just quietly sits watching for someone who does not want her anymore. Bess was picked up as a stray. The owner was notified but said he did not want her. She seems friendly and has nice markings. She is about 1 year old." More updates and better pictures to come once she has arrived.
