My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTION PENDING!!!!!!

Double is approx 1 year old now and has been in foster since he was 6 weeks old. He is extremely lovable. He is part Mainecoon and his paws are large. He loves constant attention and wants to be held most of the time. He is litter box trained and although his paws are big hes never had a mean streak. Although a tabby he has more marble in him. He also LOVES his belly rubbed and will roll over so you can rub it.

I came with 2 littermates and my foster family named us Double, Toil and Trouble. We came from a gas chamber shelter and thankful we were saved about 10 months ago.

Double is neutered and UTD.

The adoption form is here: http://bfscatsanctuary.webs.com/adoptionform.htm

After you have chosen a pet that you would like to add to your family you must fill out an application. Filling out an application does not mean you are automatically approved. Once application has been approved you will be able to set an appointment to meet the pet in person. After spending time with your new pet we have a contract you must sign.

Things to know when adopting a new pet:
Adopting a new pet can be exciting and challenging. Picking the breed, size and personality is something to think about. Just because a pet looks cute and cuddly does not make it the greatest pet in the world for your family. You need to make sure that it has a personality that will fit in well with your family. Here are a few tips and considerations to make you find the best pet for you.

1. Make sure you meet the pet and spend some time with it before making any kind of decision.

2. Realize that when you bring the pet home, he or she may need some time to get to know your home and everyone in it. It may not be as active or may act skiddish at first because it is a little confused about what is going on. He/she may need some quiet time just to settle in. Give your new pet a few days to acquainted. Cats especially tend to hide under beds or behind things for days if not weeks with new surroundings.

3. Make sure you can afford vet costs to keep your pet healthy. You may also need to put money aside in case of emergencies.

Our cats unless otherwise noted are UTD on their vaccinations and are spay/neutered. You must agree to a home visit after adoption and all your other pets MUST be UTD on vaccinations and spayed or neutered. All of our cats are INDOOR cats and you must also agree to NOT declaw the cat, we do however at times have some that are already declawed when they came to us.

To adopt a cat the adoption fee is $50 unless otherwise noted, which helps cover the cost of the spay/neuter, flea/tick meds, and vaccinations. If you adopt 2 its an adoption fee of just $75
