Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is another one of our favorite sweet girls. Shelby was turned into a VA shelter when her owner decided he didn't want her anymore. Shelby is 15 months old and weighs about 50 lbs. Her paperwork states she is shepherd/husky mix. Shelby gets along with all other dogs and has really come far since arriving to our rescue. She LOVES to play with the other dogs and as you can see by her pictures, is so happy to have a chew toy or a squeaky toy in her mouth to walk around with! She's an excellent buddy to curl up beside you on the couch, and she's great riding in the car.
This pretty girl is up to date with shots, microchipped, and spayed. She tested positive for heartworms and has been treated. While here, we suspected that Shelby has some unilateral (one-sided) hearing loss. She doesn't hear soft or even softer-regular pitched noises, but responds well to louder commands. This doesn't cause her any problems - she's so happy-go-lucky. Shelby has learned some hand signals and we're proud to say that she seems to know the hand signals for "sit", "stay", "no", and "come" already! We use hand signals concurrently with voice commands and Shelby understands our family routine and rules. She will make a perfect companion for someone who likes being outdoors or who can take her to work with them. We feel Shelby would be a great dog for a tradesperson with a truck. She's a beautiful dog with a happy spring in her feet. She also walks nicely on a leash.

We are unsure of this dog's exact heritage, however we do know she's lovable and in need of a good home. If precise breed is important to you, please look elsewhere. We cannot guarantee size or exact breed. Most of our rescue dogs were saved from shelters, either turned into the shelter anonymously or by owners who didn't want them, or owners of a mix-breed dog who had an unexpected litter by an unknown male dog (or dogs). Therefore, exact parentage is unknown and we list our dogs using our best judgment.
This dog will be placed in a home that will welcome her with open arms, and give her love, attention, and training. Homes with fenced-in yards are preferred. If you're interested in adopting, please follow the instructions below. Adoption fee $300.
_______________
All our dogs are in foster homes getting the best of care. We do not have a kennel or shelter. In order to meet our rescue dogs, we require potential adopters to submit an adoption application first. Please email onetail@comcast.net for an application and let us know where you live. DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION unless you are ready to take this dog home once your adoption has been approved. We cannot hold dogs while you go on vacation or a business trip or prepare your home. If the dog or puppy you are applying for is already vetted, most applications are processed within 3-4 days or ASAP. We are an all-volunteer rescue. Please understand that we have limited foster home space and cannot rescue more dogs if we hold dogs for others.
Adopted dogs and puppies are spayed or neutered, wormed, up to date with vaccines appropriate for age, microchipped, have gone through MA required isolation. and received a healthy dog health certificate from a MA licensed veterinarian.
