Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Miller was rescued from a breeder/hoarder situation in August 2011. His previous home had over 70 aussies on the property. Miller was born in January 2011 and is deaf because of his breeding. You can read about that here: http://www.lethalwhites.com/doublemerle.html
When he first came to the rescue he would crawl around on his belly and submissively urinate. Just a few days later and he was walking with his head held high, following hand signals, and doing wonderfully! He is INCREDIBLY sweet and loves other dogs. He is constantly giving kisses and really enjoys cuddling.
As you can see from the first picture, Miller is absolutely stunning. A HUGE thank you to Diane Lewis for snapping such a great shot. The other pictures are of Miller’s first herding experience. We took him to the wonderful Claire Apple and we were amazed at his herding potential. Miller seemed to really enjoy it and was definitely smiling the entire time.
Miller is a fabulous dog. His foster family would love to keep him but know they need to keep the "space" open for another dog in need. Once Miller gets to know you, he will love you forever, though he can be nervous at first (especially with men). He needs a home without young children as their quick actions make him nervous. He is fantastic with other dogs and cats. In fact, he LOVES dogs!!! When he is outside he could run and play with the dogs all day long. He reminds me of a young boy always ready for his next adventure with his buddies. Another wonderful characteristic of Miller is that while he will wrestle all day long outside, when he is inside he is really laid back. He loves laying on the couch or curled up on my feet. He is the best of both worlds.
Miller is neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. . Though deaf, he has a great recall for his foster mom and knows hand signals for “sit”, “down”, “good boy”, “no”, and “come here”. Miller has enormous potential. He could be a therapy dog, agility dog, herding dog, you name it. He just wants to please his person. If interested in this sweet guy, please email his foster mom at turtlepantsfarm@gmail.com
