Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bubba is one bubbalicious dog! He greats people nicely and he has lovely house manners. So how did this boy end up homeless? Bubba acted like a dog and it ended up almost costing him his life. The former owner’s 22 month grandchild went up to sleeping Bubba and “pet” him. Startled out of his sleep, Bubba snapped. (How would you respond if you were sleeping and someone whacked you?).
There are a number of options to protect both dog and child but rather than simple steps like crating Bubba when the child was over or supervising the child when around the dog, his former owners dumped him in the shelter as a dangerous dog. Shelter workers found Bubba to be such a nice dog that the shelter behaviorist investigated the snapping incidence and determined that Bubba merely exhibited normal dog behavior. As a result, rather than put him to sleep, the shelter contacted rescue.
Four year old Bubba is super easy in his foster home. He goes with the flow and is doing fine with a pack of dachshunds. Bubba loves to play fetch and is thrilled if you will throw the ball for him. He races out to get the ball and then nicely drops it at your feet so you can continue throwing.
Bubba has big round eyes which give him the most adorable expression. He loves going for walks and he behaves nicely on his leash
.
He is now sleeping in a crate at night but it is clear he slept with his people in his past life and would love to do so again. Bubba wants a home with either adults only or with older children (NO TODDLERS! This holds for most of our dogs. Dachshunds have a low pain tolerance (no stoic dogs here!) and a low bite inhibition which means they are not a good breed for very young children. Bubba was an only dog before and he would be happy to be one again. He also appears to have the makings of a good apt dog.
Bubba is vaccinated, neutered and micro chipped. If you are interested in Bubba, please fill out an adoption application at www.scdr.org and email Lindy at linla@comcast.net.
The tax deductible donation for Bubba is $250.
