Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Maxey is a beautiful, rare, Parti Yorkie boy with the prettiest face on earth. He will be 2 years old in June and weighs 17 lbs. He has a kind heart and craves attention. He loves his belly rubbed and loves his "babies" soft toys without stuffing that he can carry around and sleep with. He also loves soft fleece blankets to sleep on. He sleeps at the foot of my bed, and if he gets cold, he slowly steals my blanket and rolls up in it. Sometimes he sleeps next to me, but usually ends up at the end of the bed or even under the bed if he gets hot. He likes his pet door to go outside and play. He loves to run and play chase, but must have a safe fenced in yard. He is NOT street smart and runs faster than you can imagine. You would have a hard time catching him without a lot of luck and a good treat. He loves a warm shower and then plays really hard afterwards. When you groom him, use a mustache electric shaver with attachments (I use Norelco-not as loud as others). He is afraid of scissors.
Maxey is about 17 pounds of wonderful. He has back leg joints that pop out of place when he sits, but they pop right back in. The vet says it doesn't slow him down at all, but I am very mindful of this and keep a close watch on this. He loves to get on the top of the back of the couch and let his legs dangle down and go to sleep while looking out of the window. He loves bones (the big biscuit ones) and chewy ones as well. He pretends to be Lassie and kisses you on the cheek when he wants something. If you ignore him he will tap you on the arm and say "mama" until you follow him. He loves for the whole family to be together in the same room. He will then go to sleep and snuggle with you. He usually goes to bed for the night at 8:30 PM.
I was told when he was born to a breeder, he was bigger than the other puppies, and hungrier, and louder, so they threw him out into a yard I guess to fend for himself. That breaks my heart, but probably explains why he eats like a vacuum cleaner. He also drinks a lot of water. He loves to play with other dogs. I would advise that the other dog be close to his weight and not smaller. He is afraid of loud noises and is a wonderful watch dog. No one will ever sneak up on you, except for him when he steals your heart.
