Apollo is a super cute American Bulldogy mix, about 50 lbs, and about 1 1/2 - 2 years old and weighs about 50 lbs. He was abandoned at a dog park, locked inside before daylight. A wonderful good samaritan found him and has been fostering him. Here is what she has to say about gorgeous Apollo:
I can't say enough good things about this dog. He is house trained, great with kids, other dogs, no interest in cats, no food aggression, doesn't jump up, learned "sit" and "lay down" in a matter of minutes, I am able to lift him into bath or in my car with no issues, loves to snuggle, very affectionate, calm in the house, healthy, etc.
Apollo is good with my children ages 6 & 10, gentle, doesn't knock them over or jump on them, not too interested in cats, will leave them alone after checking them out, good with my dogs, all ranging in size and activity level, plays appropriately and respectfully with all of them, he hasn't challenged anyone for pack leadership, he does like to play rough with a dog his size, but i haven't seen any aggression. knows basic commands; sit, lay down, off, does well on a leash, wants to please.
I would gladly keep him if I could, but already have three dogs and live with a family member who will not tolerate another, barely tolerates the ones I have. It is literally me or the dog. I have two children and must keep a roof over our heads.
I am hoping someone will be able to help.
I have contacted rescue groups and of course they are full, shelters are saturated with pit bulls and he will undoubtedly be put to sleep. This breaks my heart. Is there anyone willing to help or foster him until a permenant home can be found? I will pay for him to be neutered and vaccinated. This is too nice of a dog to be euthanized because his previous owners didn't take the time to care for him or find him a new home. Please help before his time runs out.
