Update 3/3/12: Meet Wallabie!
Wallabie is a 12-15lb adorable pup that volunteers recently rescued from a local kill shelter. Not sure of his exact age, but we'd say around 10 months old.
Wallabie is staying in a foster home with one of our volunteers until we can find him a home of his very own. We are still getting to know this boy, but we have some initial info we can tell you.
Wallabie LOVES people. He nuzzles you and shoves his little snout under your hands to get you to pet him. He love to give kisses. His favorite places to kiss are your ears and your lips!
Wallabie is great with other dogs. Size doesn't matter, he likes them all. He is very much into playing with the pack. He has also been introduced to cats. He doesn't quite understand yet that the kitties don't want to play with him, but he is learning to be respectful of their space and shows no interest in harming them in any way.
Wallabie doesn't like to be left alone by himself. He needs to go to a home with at least one other dog to keep him company while you are out. Plus, he is young and wants someone to play with!
Wallabie is doing very well with his housetraining and with some consistency, like any young pup, should be fully housetrained in no time.
Wallabie is a very good escape artist. He leaps dog gates and ex-pens in a single bound! So think about your setup before you apply for him. You will need to close him off in his own room or use crating for this little guy.
Wallabie will make a great dog for most owners. He's simply a wonderful little guy!

Info. about Sadie Mae Foundation's adoption process
Please note that we
do not ship animals or do same-day adoptions. Additionally, we ordinarily limit adoptions to homes within CT or no more than an hour or so drive from Hartford, CT in order to be able to conduct a home visit and provide follow-up assistance when necessary. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis.
We try to make our adoption process as
easy and painless as possible, but please understand where we are coming from and all of the work that goes into rescuing and rehoming homeless animals. We don't want them to go through this again. Visit
www.sadiemaefoundation.org to learn about the adoption process in detail.
