When the "Doggie Angel" made Merry, she certainly added EXTRA sugar, spice and everything nice !!! One of the most joyful little Beagles in the whole world, which is truly a miracle, considering the pain and suffering Merry has endured in her short young life... Found wandering in a truck stop, limping with one back foot totally gone, digging for scraps, a trucker with a very big heart rescued her. He cared for Merry until he could find her the right place to go. We were so grateful to him and feel blessed to have Merry. Sadly, it was determined that due to her type of injury, her foot gone and only a slender stump remaining, it would be best if she had the rest of her leg amputated to give her the best quality of life with no restrictions as to what she could do. The vets felt her injury was caused by getting her foot caught in one of those horrific steel jaw traps. She is now completely recovered from her surgery and released from the vets care to find that soooo special home. Merry came into rescue like a breath of fresh air - stealing the hearts of everyone who meets her. Like a field of wildflowers, she will brighten your day with her wonderful sunny disposition and enthusiasm for life !!! A "happy people lover", is an understatement. Everyone Merry meets is her new best friend and she will let you know with an abundance of Beagle greetings, hugs and kisses. She is in heaven going for walks on her leash and rides in the car. Don't tell Merry she has a handicap, with her amazing love of life, never once a wimper or complaint, she hasn't let this slow her down or damper her spirits one bit. She is a playful girl, loves other dogs and runs around the play yard with them having the time of her life. Merry is about 1 1/2 yrs.,a smaller Beagle, weighs 21lbs., spayed, current on shots, micro-chipped, heartworm tested and on prevention, housebroken. She loves children and with her gentle personality, she would be fine in a family with children 6 or over. Will be adopted as an inside dog only, with a very secure fenced yard. She would love another doggie brother or sister, medium size and gentle,or, one with one family member who is home most of the time. If you want a new best friend with a zest for life and can give Merry the attention she deserves, you will be rewarded with a incredible little dog with a great big heart full of love. Approved home only. Adoption fee. "NO APTS". If you would like to inquiry about adopting Merry you must first call for a phone interview. She is located in Orland, which is appx. 1 1/2 hrs. north of Sacramento, off of I-5.
