Here's what the humans have to say about me:
July 16, 2012
Rocky has become more comfortable having Moxie as part of our home. He definitely enjoys play time and even nap time with her. As long as he has some one on one affection from us, he's happy. He is still protective of our home, but is better with our immediate neighbors. He may bark at them when they initially come out in the yard, but then he relaxes and just watches them work in the yard. In addition to the front window, he likes to lie on the back deck and watch for any critters that may go by in the wooded area beyond the fence, it can occupy him for a long time. Since Moxie isn't as socialized as Rocky he has had a set back on our walks and isn't as friendly and open to meeting other dogs and people as he used to be. Because of this, we will start doing individual walks vs just all of us together. Rocky's forever home will need to have a strong leader, experienced with the breed to keep his stubborn tendencies under control. Everyone that meets him says how handsome and smart he is. Rocky is a special boy just waiting for the right forever home!
Meet Rocky! Rocky’s story is very sad for a two year old boy. Rocky is coming into the program from his fourth owner. His current owner was not expecting to get another dog as they currently have two and their daughter brought him home one day. He does not get along with their resident male lab, so it is causing a little bit of tension in the home. Rocky gets along great with their resident female Boxer and he appears to be a great dog that just needs the right owner to work with him. He will need a strong leader that will take the time to work with him, train him and give him the proper exercise, limitation and boundaries a Boxer needs. We do not know much of his past, but are told he is showing signs of “protectiveness” in his current home when strangers come to the house, so that will need to be worked on in his new home, with proper boundaries and introductions. Rocky also has a very high prey drive, so we will not be placing him in a home with little animals or cats. We know he has lived with a 16 year old child in one of his home, so older children would be fine with Rocky. Please check back soon as we secure a foster home for this handsome boy.
