My story

Schmidty is quite the charmer and looking for a family to call his very own. His foster mom saw him at the shelter and his eyes melted her heart...she just had to rescue him! Poor Schmidty was filthy, had hair loss from fleas, HW+ and just plan uncomfortable. He’s since been fully vetted including treatment for heartworms and is now ready for adoption.



Schmidty is all about love. He loves all people, all ages, all genders. He enjoys sitting in your lap and leaning his head on your chest. He is very much a lapdog but also enjoys his alone time when he will wander off to lay in a doggie bed near his people. Schmidty is a respectful dog who does not bark indoors and will only occasionally bark when we’re outside for potty breaks. Schmidty gets along well with other dogs and plays a lot with his fellow foster dog. The two can be loud when they play, but they’re really having fun! As soon as Schmdity began heartworm treatment, his foster parents noticed a change in his behavior – he was beginning to play with toys and roll around on his back for fun. We believe Schmidty would also be happy as an only dog as he does not seem dependent on doggie interaction but could get along with well with other dogs in a household too. Schmidty is crate-trained when his parents are away from the house. He gets along well with children including the toddler in his foster home. Schmidty is a fun-loving, incredibly loyal and affectionate little man waiting patiently for a home to call his own. Please submit an adoption application for Schmidty today!
